Watkins Glen State Park

Since we did not spend our usual July 4th in Boston this year (but coming later!) Terri and I took a weekend trip to Wine Country in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Been there, done that, but definitely worth a return trip. This time however, we took a temporary detour from wine tasting to visit the Gorge courtesy of Watkins Glen State Park. For $8.00, you can spend the entire day walking and exploring the various paths in and around the Gorge. You get 1.5 miles of path loaded with awesome views of the Gorge. Each view better than the previous one. Then, the best part is that you get to go back. Interestingly enough, you get a different perspective of the Gorge on the return trip. Due to the extreme heat we chose one path which travelled the entire 1.5 mile length of the Gorge. Several photos are posted here, but click here to view additional photos. Enjoy.

Trip to Holley Ross Pottery

It was a warm, sunny Sunday afternoon, so Terri and I decided to visit Holly Ross Pottery in the Poconos. Although this is not to be meant as an advertisement, they do have some cool Fiesta ware at reduced prices. Worth the visit. But anyway, behind the store they have a cool walking trail leading to a picnic area and small lake. I had known about this so I had my camera and captured a few photos of the trail. A suspension bridge over a stream leads to the walking trail and the picnic area. Click on  Holley Ross Pottery to see additional photos. Enjoy.
