Several months ago, our daughter Renee, and her husband, Keith experienced one of the great life events – moving into their first new house. As all moves go, it was a hectic experience, since no matter how much work is done in preparation for the move, there is always a lot more. Fortunately for them, all in all, the move went pretty smoothly. Since the relocation required many parallel events there were two crews working this – Renee, Keith and Keith’s parents finalized the packing in the current location and Terri and I were at the new house cleaning and preparing it for the furniture which was to be on its way down to the new home in the upcoming 5 hours.
Starting with the “FROM” photos below, the process began on a cloudy Tuesday morning. Although Renee and Keith had quite a bit of stuff packed prior to the move, like I said earlier about pre-preparation work – the last minute and unexpected items always surface.
Oh yeah, done !!!! and ready to start the trek to the new house, life belongings in the hands of strangers with a big truck.
The photo below was taken driving home to the new house just after Renee and Keith closed on the house the Monday morning before the actual move. Real exciting times. Their smiles placed side to side could have spanned the street where they just drove.
And of course, the presentation of the welcoming basket AFTER Renee and Keith entered the house. Terri and I rang the doorbell to make it official. The looks on their faces say it all.
After the Monday morning excitement was over, Terri and I went to work in preparation for the Tuesday move.
And Tuesday came with a vengance, Verizon for the cable installation, Cardi with the new bedroom furniture, Jordans with the matress and just as the dust was settling…
The movers were actually a lot of fun and truly great bunch of guys.
…and a couple of views from the backyard…
